Google headquarters has announced that it plans to perform testing of its “Google Fiber for Communities,” a series of ultra-high speed broadband networks. The testing will be done in a limited number of trial locations across the United States.
In order to be eligible for consideration for testing, a city must have one or more community areas with at least 50,000 people. Royal Oak fits this criteria; therefore, the city is applying for selection as one of the possible pilot communities.
