The City of Royal Oak Planning Commission Meeting was held at 211 S. Williams St., on Tuesday Nov. 9 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Commissioners offered public comment first and, finding none, moved on to a proposal to give the location at 409 S. Center a special land use permit for a restaurant. But the 360-seat steak house and pizza restaurant (Ballantine 21) owned by former Detroit Red Wing Dino Ciccarelli hadn’t received its liquor license yet, so no action was taken. The petitioner addressed the meeting in hopes of getting comments so they could be better prepared for the December meeting.
Commissioners followed that with a public hearing for a coffee house and concert venue (The Vintage Cafe) at 419-423 S. Washington Ave.
