Did Sarah Palin get booed on ‘Dancing with the Stars’? Sarah Palin was in the audience this time around to show her support for Bristol Palin, who twirled around the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ floor like a white star on Old Glory flopping in the wind (she actually did rather well this time, not having to do that little shoulder shimmy that Sarah Palin was impressed by). But who cares about how well Bristol Palin did; everyone is just going to want to know if Sarah Palin got booed before doing an interview on the show.
After Jennifer Grey gave the performance of the night, looking more like a girl of Bristol Palin’s age than her fifty years, the audience booed as she and partner Derek Hough gave their post-score quickie interview. The booing got so loud that Brooke Burke and Jennifer Grey questioned what was going on. Unfortunately, we didn’t get an answer; we just got a shot of Sarah Palin and daughter Willow sitting in the audience as Sarah gave an interview right afterward. So was the audience booing Sarah Palin?
I thought the audience might have been booing Jennifer Grey’s scores, considering it was fairly obvious she deserved a trio of nines instead of three eights. However, it seemed to start a little late for that. On the flip side, “the hootin’ and hollerin”, as Sarah Palin would say, died down by the time she was giving her interview, and she was actually cheered before her little speech about courage and hockey and the importance of sucking up to the judges to give “Bristol the Pistol” a better chance at doing well with her dance scores.
So if Sarah Palin wasn’t being booed, what was going on? My best guess is that something was said by one of the judges that the audience didn’t like (not about Sarah Palin), or perhaps a Sarah Palin heckler was spied in the crowd (you can see the clip here on Gawker to judge for yourself what is going on). ‘Dancing with the Stars’ itself had no problem with the polarizing political figure, showing Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas visiting one of his “biggest fans” in Alaska. But enough about the Palins.
Jennifer Grey is the real star of the show, finally living that nose job down and returning right back to wear she belongs. Jamie Lee Curtis even keeps popping up in the crowd, showing her support for the ‘Dirty Dancing’ star. But why is she there?
According to Access Hollywood, Jamie Lee Curtis was offered a spot on the show, but couldn’t compete due to her busy schedule. So instead she seems to be content watching from the crowd, and, like a lot of women, she’s rooting for the fifty-year-old with a fiery spirit and the legs of a fifteen-year-old.
It’s no wonder Jennifer Grey has been able to kick her cancer to the curb (and her ‘Dancing with the Stars’ checkup is what helped her find it in time to prevent it from turning into something truly deadly). So as fun as it is to think of Sarah Palin being booed on a reality show, I think this is Jennifer’s Grey’s time to have the time of her life, so I hope the spotlight continues to shine brightly on someone who is truly inspiring without anymore silly distractions.
