Residents get to see the updates to Ferndale City Hall on Monday, November 15th. The $447,000 upgrade means the city can serve the public with fewer city employees, and meets Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.
Operating at 300 East Nine Mile Road, the second floor will be open to the public that day. It’s accessible by either stairs or the elevator.
At least two City Council members voted against the upgrade initially, but were outvoted.
It’s hoped that by reducing the number of required counter services, City Hall will be more effective in the long-term. New office spaces, furniture, carpet, wiring, and paint were part of the upgrade.
