Internet marketers are always looking for ways to make faster money. Keyword marketing has shown itself to be effective, and yet the amount of money that an individual makes from a few clicks can be as little as .05 cents. With only 200 or 300 hits a day, even at a 10% click through rate it would take 2,191 years to make your first million. Not exactly the get rich quick scheme you had hoped.
So internet marketers often look to try something different: to target the most expensive Google keywords with the hopes of making hundreds of dollars a day instantly, turning some 200 visitors a day into hundreds of dollars. The problem is that it doesn’t work.
What Are the Most Expensive Google Keywords?
The most expensive Google keywords are things like “cash for structured settlements” and “Florida auto insurance quotes.” These keywords cost something like $60.00 a click, with much of those earnings passed on to the marketer. Certainly this high CPC would make it easier to get rich.
The problem is that even though these are the most expensive Google keywords, they do not receive enough searches. How many people in Florida do you think are searching for that car insurance term online every day? Even in that large state, the numbers are fairly low, and even fewer are likely to also visit your site and click on the ad. Even the best website is going to receive at most one click a month, maybe two, and that’s after you put in enough work to get your website high in search engines.
How to Internet Market
Rather than target he most expensive keywords, focus instead on keywords that get a lot of searchers. High search keywords with a CPC as low as $0.50 will be far more likely to get you clicks, vastly improving the likelihood of achieving a respectable income. In addition, writing articles that compete against the major companies that target those keywords is nearly impossible. The amount of work you would put in would achieve almost no reward.
Focus instead on content that you receive higher searches with low competition rates. It will require less work from you with a far greater chance at reward, despite the lower CPC.
