Ferndale is a small suburb outside of Detroit. It’s between 8 and 9 Mile roads and Woodward Avenue. Ferndale has really good food, great bars and cool music. On a weekend afternoon, my family and I decided to visit Ferndale to see what this city has to offer. Surprisingly there is quite a bit.
Since I wasn’t driving, I was able to see some of the shopping boutiques there with really cool fashion trends. The stores are close together, but they have big signs that stand out, which is good when you’re trying to find something. They even have The Record Collector, Painting with a Twist and Cantina Diablos Restaurant.
Ferndale is a suburb in which people can open up a business of their favorite hobbies and interests. Downtown Ferndale gets quite a bit of traffic, and there are parking meters throughout the city. But driving around this city to see other things is worthwhile. I saw wreaths decorated around some of the light poles and wondered if they were going to have Christmas trees and other decorations around the city in December.
People don’t seem afraid to walk through an alley or do photo shoots outside. It looks like there is something for everyone to do, and it’s pretty laid back on a weekend afternoon. The city is biker-friendly, so it’s good to know if you live here and like riding bikes.
