Trying to save some time and money, I’ve been testing out some different nail care products. While wandering the halls of Walgreens, I came upon a very colorful display of a nail polish brand I had never heard of: Sinful Colors. The colors ranged from neon green to pale purple.
At the time they were on sale for 99 cents each (regularly $1.99) so I picked out 4 different colors and went home to try them.
Snow Me White is, as described, white. This polish goes on smoothly, but dries with streaks, even after 2 coats. As a nail polish alone, I do not recommend this color due to the poor final outcome. However, this color does make a good base coat for the following colors.
Frenzy is a sassy combination of turquoise and magenta sparkles inside of a clear polish. It goes on smoothly and evenly and dries that way too. You will probably want to put on at least 2 coats of this color to get the desired effect.
Queen of Beauty is a clear polish full of silver glitter. This product goes on smoothly, leaving slightly more glitter than Frenzy. 1-2 coats should be enough.
Pinky Glitter is a translucent pink polish with pink and gold glitter. This polish goes on very thick and takes a very long time to dry. After a full 10 minutes, the polish on my nails was the consistency of a gummy bear. Another 5 minutes went by before I lost my patience and peeled it all off. The positive aspect of this is that you will only need one coat.
You can decide how dramatic you want your nails to look with the number of coats you apply. For a little bit of sparkle, one coat on top of a bare nail will catch the light nicely. 3-4 coats over Snow Me White will really make a statement.
A clear top coat helps keep your polish from chipping, and keeps the sparkles looking shiny.
Overall: These polishes are worth the sale price, but are lacking in quality. They also make great stocking stuffers for the holiday season.
