Well, the press have been officially banned from seeing any advanced screening of the alien invasion flick Skyline which opens this Friday. This is most definitely not a good sign for any movie. I gave away passes to see the screening but I can’t go myself. That’s not unheard of but always disheartening. This always happens when the studios think they’ve got a rotten one heading out of the gates.
Skyline really doesn’t look that bad to me. It looks like an enjoyable little action thriller which will keep me entertained for a couple of hours or so. It does lack any real big names as far as actors go but that doesn’t necessarily say anything. I do have to say that the directing duo of Colin Strause and Greg Strause doesn’t really make me jump up and down. These guys helmed the rather lame Alien VS. Predator: Requiem movie. Maybe anyone who catches the film at one of the advanced screenings can let me know how the movie is.
Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.
Skyline was directed by the Strause Brothers and stars Eric Balfour, Scottie Thompson , Donald Faison, and Brittany Daniel.
The movie invades theaters this coming Friday, November 12th.
You can check out a couple trailers and a few clips for Skyline down below. The first clip is “Exploding Helicopter” and shows Jerrod (Eric Balfour) almost getting saved. The second clip, “Escape,” has Terry (Donald Faison) almost getting flattened by aliens. In the third clip entitled “Light,” Ray (Neil Hopkins ) gets zapped by aliens. “Abducting,” which is the last clip features Jarrod (Eric Balfour) watching the population of Los Angeles get abducted by aliens.
