Sons of Anarchy Season 3 Episode 11 is a long-awaited climax. Of course, Sons of Anarchy Season 3 Episode 11 is not the season finale, which is still two weeks away. Although the entire year has been dominated by the search for Abel, it actually came to an end two weeks early. However, just finding Abel isn’t the major obstacle anymore, after Kellan Ashby fueled Jax’s latest round of indecision last week. But in Episode 11, Sons of Anarchy finally reunited father and son after all – although SAMCRO’s troubles, and Jax’s, are far from over.
Warning: Spoilers follow
The search for this year’s main villains got tighter, with Adam Arkin – who played last year’s main villain – returning in the director’s chair. Clay headed the search for the marked Jimmy, while back in Charming, Agent Stahl actually tried to help the rest of SAMCRO find Salazar before he could kill Tara and Margaret.
But Season 3 Episode 11 mainly focused on Jax’s tough decisions. After being shaken up by Father Ashby’s disclosures last week, he got even more of a gut punch when he found Abel – with his new family. This led him to make what the preview summary said was “the toughest decision of his life.”
Of course, such a decision doesn’t sit well with Gemma – who had already held a baby at gunpoint to get Abel’s location. So she pulls out a rather big trump card to get him focused again, although Jax soon gets another reason to change his mind.
Despite the heart-wrenching dilemma Jax faced, this episode wound up taking the decision out of his hands after all. As such, any fear about leaving behind Abel after spending an entire year worrying about him was eliminated by the end.
With this 11-week plot brought to an end, the show will now spend two weeks on the remaining subplots. But there are still a lot of them left, which could do greater damage to SAMCRO than the visit to Belfast did. Back in Charming, another obstacle to Jacob Hale’s development plans fell, while Stahl is still lurking to make Jax and SAMCRO pay if she doesn’t get Jimmy.
At least one search ended, but now two manhunts are still left to tie up. In both cases, if they end in death, it could destroy Jax, the club, and Charming in one fell swoop.
For those who didn’t like how Season 3 was devoted to a baby search, Sons of Anarchy is now set to make up for it in the next two weeks, as they set Season 4 in motion.
