South Bernal Heights was once the home of a local emancipated minor. Now they are grown up and have joined TAYSF (Transitional Aged Youth SF). The main function of this group is the Young Adult Advisory Committee. New members include Erin J Williams, age 23, from South Bernal Heights.
The group honoring emancipated minors began as an organization that makes an obvious point. Emancipated minors have exceptional challenges and need the support of their local neighborhood community. Succeeding on your own is not easy when you are under the age of eighteen.
Becoming an emancipated minor means taking care of yourself when other kids are still living at home. For this reason, organized support is needed for emancipated minors. The organization Honoring Emancipated Youth SF (HEYSF) is seeking donations from the community in the shadow of budget cuts from the city.
Holiday donations are accepted at the HEYSF.org website.
