I have always enjoyed the great taste and portability of a quality trail mix. The combination of dried fruit and nuts as well as the easy transportation of this snack is a winning combination. On a recent shopping trip I spotted Southern Grove Fruit & Nut Trail Mix on my favorite grocery store shelf. I couldn’t wait to purchase this snack mix and give it a try. Our upcoming camping trip was a perfect excuse to pack this mix in our gear and enjoy it while relaxing at our site.
This trail mix is contained in a ten ounce bag with a clear plastic window in the front. I love this type of packaging as it enables the consumer to clearly see what they are paying for. The front of the bag shows a perfectly proportioned mixture of peanuts, walnuts, raisins and dried apricots, bananas, cherries, strawberries and pineapple. I paid only $2.49 for this product which I feel is an excellent price for the quantity as well as the diversity of the ingredients.
Each three tablespoon serving of this travel snack has one hundred and thirty calories. There is a total of six Fat grams as well as one point five grams of Saturated Fat. There is no Trans Fat or Cholesterol contained in this product. There is only sixty milligrams of Sodium in this trail mix which is very good news for those snack lovers who are encouraged by their doctors to monitor their Sodium intake. Each serving contains nineteen grams of Total Carbohydrate and two grams of Dietary Fiber. Thirteen grams of Sugar is consumed with each three tablespoon serving size. On the plus side, this trail mix offers two percent of Vitamin A, two percent of Vitamin C, two percent of Calcium and four percent of Iron. While these numbers do not suggest that simply snacking on this trail mix will provide all the necessary nutrients for optimum health, it is good to know that this snack offers some nutritional value.
I truly love Southern Grove Trail Mix. The combination of the dried fruit pieces and the salty nuts made for a very delicious snack. The resealable zipper bag made this product very convenient for travel and easy to dole out munchies for the kids, while keeping the remainder fresh for a later time. I give this affordable and tasty trail mix a solid five star rating and certainly plan on purchasing it again.
