There are many wonderful family restaurants located in Southern Indiana. There are three restaurants that are especially nice for atmosphere, good food, good wait staff, decent prices, and fun. They all have different themes which make them enjoyable for a variety reasons. They are also all located minutes from downtown Louisville, Kentucky.
The first family restaurant is Rocky’s in Jeffersonville, Indiana along the Ohio River. It is less than five minutes off of Interstate 65 in Indiana. Whether seated inside or outside on the deck , there are amazing views of the Ohio River and Louisville skyline. Sunsets are particularly enjoyable at this restaurant while boats, birds and barges pass by on the river. The food is very good with an Italian based theme and reasonably priced. There is also a wonderful wine list to enjoy. Children will enjoy this restaurant for the kid’s menu, roomy seating, and all they can see along the river as well.
Next is Pizza King located in New Albany, Indiana. Their main attraction is the pizza of course, along with good appetizers, sandwiches, spaghetti, and list of beverages. This restaurant is exceptionally enjoyable for kids because while sitting in the booth waiting for food, a train will deliver drinks to the table! The train travels by quite frequently and is a delight for kids to see. There are also televisions with video game consoles for families to enjoy while waiting. What a great combination for a family – good food, drinks, trains to watch, video games to play, and a fun atmosphere!
Finally there is Huber’s restaurant located in Starlight, Indiana. This restaurant is located in beautiful country and is enjoyable throughout the year. It is exceptional during the fall and Christmas seasons. It is best to call ahead and make reservations, because there is always a crowd on the weekends ready to enjoy the down home cooking. Portions are plentiful and the rolls served with apple butter are simply delicious while waiting for the meal. After enjoying a meal, there is much to enjoy outside of the restaurant, or travel down the road to the orchard and winery for more fun things to do for the entire family.
There is much to see and do in Southern Indiana, and these are just a few of the restaurants families can enjoy.
