Sponsoring give aways and reviews on mom blogs could be your ticket to spreading the word about your products (gift ideas) for the holiday season. It’s not too late to get in on the give aways!
It’s a fact that Mom Bloggers are on the rise and are the largest group of product and service promoters on the Internet. Moms are some of the most innovative people in the world, as they have to figure out how to juggle a gazillion hats concurrently – which not only necessitates a ton of creativity, but also requires enormous amounts of patience, amazing time management skills, and a lot of energy. Phew! I’m tired just thinking about it.
If you have a gift idea or product that you want promoted to one of largest consumer audiences, it can be as easy as 1, 2, 3!
The first thing you want to do is contact some mom bloggers. Finding them is quite easy, as you can type “mom blogs” into Google, and Viola! There are thousands, if not millions, to choose from.
Next, check out the blog and make sure that it is the type of blog that you want your products posted on. Read the reviews and give aways that are already posted and skim through some of the comments and posts on the blog. Get to know the mom voice behind the blog. We’re all people with regular lives, enjoying our kids and managing the every day craziness of a mommy’s life.
Once you’ve found the blog or blogs that you would like to sponsor, go to the contact page and contact the author. A quick email is usually sufficient. You can also leave a comment on their blog – we love comments! Simply tell them that you are interested in sponsoring a review or give away.
Usually, for a review, the company will send out a sample product to the blogger and it will be reviewed in a post shortly after the mom blogger receives it.
For the give away, the blogger will come up with stipulations for the give away and orchestrate the whole procedure, as well as promotion on Twitter and Facebook and other promotional mom network blogs. If you want your page “Liked” on Facebook and “Followed” on Twitter, make sure you let the blogger knows before they write their post. It is best if you allow them to host the give away and then provide you with the mailing address(es) of the winners so that you can ship the items out, rather than shipping the items to the blogger and then to the winner (this also ensures that the winners really do receive the product).
I recommend doing both the review and the give away, because not only does the blogger have the opportunity to describe and promote the product, they can also get people inspired and excited about your product by hosting a give away! Think about it this way: someone can tell you all about a product, but if you have a chance to WIN it, you’re going to look at the website and get excited, right?
