This StarCraft 2 unit guide will cover the Terran Reactor add-on building. The Reactor is new to StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty giving Terran players the option of building 2 units at once with their military unit production facilities. Attachable to the Barracks, Factory or Starport, the Reactor doubles the production queue of that building giving 2 simultaneously building queues of 5. Since the Reactor takes the place of a Tech Lab, only certain units not requiring the lab can be dual built with a Reactor attached building. The main building when lifting off, will unfortunately leave the add-on behind, but may be used and attached to any other production building.
The Reactor is first available in the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty campaign mission ‘The Outlaws’
Since the producing building may not also be attached to a tech lab, the only units that can benefit from dual production with the Reactor in melee are as follows: Barracks – Marine, Factory – Hellion, Starport – Medivac and Viking.

StarCraft 2 Terran Reactor Upgrades
Building Armor (melee only): Researched by the Engineering Bay (Hotkey B) this upgrade gives +2 armor to all Terran buildings, including the Reactor (3 Total). Excellent upgrade to help increase the longevity of all your buildings. Costs 150 minerals, 150 gas and 140 seconds.
Fire Suppression System (Campaign Only): Costs $90,000 to benefit all structures including the Reactor add-on by causing all fires to automatically be put out while buildings automatically repair themselves to 50%. Fires can be a real killer to Terran structures, often destroying them as they continue burning after an attack has subsided. The automatic repair function also helps until an SCV can arrive.
Tech Reactor (campaign only): Costs 25 research points into the Protoss tech tree, this upgrade combines the benefits of both the Tech Lab and the Reactor into a single building add-on, the Tech Reactor, which allows dual production of all units when attached to a Barracks, Factory or Starport. Nullifies the ability to receive the Orbital Strike upgrade.
