Located within 15 minutes of Downtown Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park is the #1 Georgia tourist attraction. The 3,200-acre destination is home to outdoor family fun and an exciting backdrop that includes rock wall climbing, mountain hiking, and winding trails. The park, rich in Georgia history, transports you back into a vivid past; all you have to do is explore the expansive park. Visit the grounds and experience the adventure of “Sky Hike” the United States’ largest family friendly adventure course. It is outfitted with a whopping quarter-mile of climbing nets and suspended bridges that span upwards to heights that reach four stories high.
On rainy or inclement days, an indoor activity center (The Great Barn) is open to keep the family excitement rolling. It’s packed with slides and interactive games.
Water lovers can beat the heat by jumping aboard the “Ride the Ducks” amphibious land to lake vehicle.
When you are ready to dry, sit back and relax; enjoy the journey aboard the “Scenic Railroad” and take a leisurely open-air train through the scenic beauty and nature of the largest exposed piece of granite in the world.
“Summit Ride” – Hop onto the Swiss style cable car and get an awesome and up-close view of the Stone Mountain MemorialCarving.
“Lasershow Spectacular” – Personally, this Atlanta lightshow rivals that of a New Years celebration and features fireworks, music and awe-inspiring lights that illuminate the face of the mountain.
You may not be able to fully visit and enjoy the “Memorial Hall”, the “Memorial Carving”, “Antebellum Plantation” and “Confederate Hall” all in one day, so don’t forget the lodging options available.
“Stone Mountain Inn” accommodates visitors with guest rooms that have private verandas overlooking the pristine pool. For a more rustic sleepover, the park also offers its guests access to tent and RV camping in one of Georgia’s largest campgrounds, “Stone Mountain Campground”.
