Police are urging Royal Oak residents to keep an eye out after a string of break-ins. The incidents have all occurred in the space of a little over a week, and while police have a description of the man allegedly responsible, they don’t have any leads beyond that.
So far the break-ins have been over a widespread area of the city, that encompasses seven streets so far. The streets that have seen incidents include Martin, Vermont, Gardenia, North Campbell, South Dorchester, East Farnum, Marlin, and East 6th.
The man allegedly spotted around the scene of at least one of these intrusions is described as a white male between 40 and 50, who was wearing a black baseball cap, black sweatshirt, and jeans. Anyone with information should call the police. In the meantime, keep your doors and windows securely locked.
While Royal Oak is typically a safe community, it’s obvious we have a problem at the moment. Until the man is caught, be extra cautious.
