I remember looking for months to find a simple job back in the late 1980s. Now, people with plenty of good qualifications have been looking for months – even years, now – and have not succeeded in finding sustainable employment.
Not only is the nation’s economy in trouble because of bank policies, banking failures and overt criminal behavior for which they continue to go unpunished, but increasing numbers of restrictions on businesses, crippling taxation and questionable policies like the impending tyranny of Obamacare.
All of this is making it very difficult for companies to survive, let alone hire an employee and take on all of the responsibilities that brings.

You might be surprised to find that it is not required to have a license or special certification to perform certain kinds of services. For example, in many states, there are no licenses for ministers who perform marriage ceremonies. There is no professional licensing bureau for most kinds of alternative therapy like Reiki healing. There is no special licensing for hypnotists.
If you have a talent, contact a local entertainment agency. Parties and social events that hire entertainers are a great chance to make good money very quickly. I once knew a man who put himself through law school by doing private parties as a clown.
Whatever you do, don’t forget to advertise yourself on-line with a web site. It is one of the best places you can advertise and showcase whatever you do.
Now is the time for thinking outside the box. Survival in this economy takes a little good luck, a lot of creativity and a strong aggression level.
