Last time both tribes voted out team members. La Flor voted out Kelly B and Espada voted out Yve.
When Espada got back to camp after they voted out Yve, Chase wondered if voting her out instead of Dan was a good decision. But in an interview he said that they made their bed so now they have to lie in it. Later, He, Holly and NaOnka agreed that the next person voted out would be Alina. NaOnka thought that because Alina was sneaky and untrustworthy that she had to go.
Over at La Flor Marty was livid about what happened at tribal. He confronted Sash and Brenda and they confirmed they wanted to flush out his idol. Marty then said that he had some “big cajones” to not have played the idol. In the morning Marty confronted Jane about the vote and if she wrote his name down. Jane didn’t reply just laughed and patted him on his shoulder. Marty got mad that Jane flipped and he and Jill wanted to get her voted off.
The two tribes met on their mats for the first reward challenge. The winners would get to go horseback riding and share a Nicaraguan breakfast. For the challenge, one tribe member had to jump off a landing into a pool of water and throw a ball into a net. A member of the opposing team would be on a pole submerged in the water guarding the net. The first team to get five balls in the net would win. Jane sat out for La Flor. Jud/Fabio and Chase were the net defenders. NaOnka got the first ball for Espada. Jill then got the first ball for La Flor. Then Alina and Benry got their balls in for Espada and Purple Kelly for La Flor. When Dan went he threw the ball and then jumped; which wasn’t the correct way. The dude could barely even swim out of the pool. Fabio took a quick pee in the pool before he got back on the pole before NaOnka went again. Everyone asked him what he was doing and he said he couldn’t concentrate with a full bladder. NaNa got her ball in despite being thoroughly disgusted with Fabs. Jill got another ball for La Flor, to make the score 4 to 3. Benry threw the winning ball for Espada and they won.
The next day at La Flor Jane got up early to catch fish for the tribe. She figured if she was helpful then the team will keep her. Sash woke up and was happy Jane was getting fish, but he said later that it was nice that the older tribe mates did all the camp work but in the end it was all about loyalty to him. Jane caught a bunch of catfish but decided to cook and eat one away from the others because that was her reward to herself for catching the fish. She gleefully cooked and ate it and didn’t feel bad because why should she labor for the food and just give it to the others who did nothing.
Meanwhile Espada was enjoying their horseback ride. This was very emotional for Chase since he grew up on a farm and it reminded him of his father who recently passed away. After the horseback riding the tribe members helped milk cows. Then it was the real reward of the gigantic breakfast feast. The tribe members dug into fresh farm cheese, eggs, milk and fruit. Alina and Holly got a bit choked up while eating much to NaOnka’s disguised disgust. The two emotional gals said the meal made them appreciative of everything they had.
Immunity challenge time. The challenge was to position a chute, roll a ball down it and break five tiles. The first tribe to break all five would win immunity. Sash sat out for La Flor. Purple Kelly and Brenda would roll the balls while Benry and Alina rolled them for Espada. Purple Kelly got the first tile. Then Alina and Benry quickly broke two tiles while Brenda argued with her team about the chute position. Purple Kelly again got another tile, but Alina and Benry broke two more in the meantime. Then Benry shot the winning tile breaking ball and Espada won immunity. A downbeat La Flor had to get ready for tribal council and vote someone out.
Back at La Flor Sash, Fabs and Brenda strategized about the vote. It was hilarious to watch Fabs try to explain how the vote was going to go down but sort of forgetting what was going to happen. Basically they would give Marty three votes, Jill two and then there would be two votes for whomever Jill and Marty wrote down. If Marty played the idol it would cause a tiebreaker where they would revote for Jill. If Marty didn’t play the idol he would be voted out. Then Sash decided to ask Marty to give him the idol. He sat Marty down and explained exactly how the vote would happen. Marty knew that he would lose the idol either way, but got Sash to promise that Jill would be voted out if Marty gave Sash the idol. Sash then told Marty he would give him the idol back if they lost immunity in the next challenge.
At tribal council Marty and Jill called out Jane’s disloyalty. Brenda defended her and Jane said that when they switched tribes she became “yellow,” referencing the tribe’s buff color. Then Marty said he gave the idol to Sash. Sash confirmed that it was in his pocket but that he would give it up or use it if: “I lose trust in them, or, I’m sorry, if there’s a time when they lose trust in me.” Jeff called out his Freudian slip. Sash looked a bit stunned that he said that. Then Fabio explained that a Freudian slip was when 90 percent of the sub-conscience came out or something. The tribe voted and Jill was voted out.
