It was a whole new game on week 6 of “Survivor Nicaragua.” With the change up of teams last week alliances were broken and new relationships had to be formed.
Marty was not welcomed by the young people on La Flor. His attempt to take a leadership role and appear vulnerable by showing his immunity idol did not endear him to his new tribe. It only served to make some of the young tribe more suspicious and resentful of Marty and his ego.
The Espada tribe had their own problems during week 6 of “Survivor Nicaragua.” No one on the team cares for Dan, but before the competitions even began Dan was complaining again about the cold, the lack of sleep, and everything else that didn’t suit him. He told Holly that he was ready to go home, which Holly immediately blabbed to the rest of the tribe.
The conundrum was that Espada saw Yve as a greater threat as an individual player. They completely left her out of the loop on last week’s decision to vote off Tyrone, so she was feeling alienated from her tribe mates on “Survivor Nicaragua”
“Survivor Nicaragua” episode 6 – The Challenge
This week’s challenge was immensely valuable to the tribes. They weren’t playing for immunity. In fact, both tribes were told they would hold a tribal council and vote of one of their tribe members. This week’s competition was all for personal immunity and the chance to have a feast.
Surprisingly, two members from the former older tribe, Holly and Jill won the competition securing their personal immunity. Jill won the remainder of the challenge securing a kabob feast for her tribe.
La Flor tribe – “Survivor Nicaragua” week 6 recap
With NaOnka gone to the Espada tribe, Brenda emerged as a leader for La Flor. She thinks Jill and Marty are conniving, and she wants to get rid of Kelly B. Brenda plotted and planned to get half the votes to go to Marty and half to Brenda, hoping to flush out Marty’s immunity idol and get rid of Brenda.
Meanwhile, Marty drew Fabio (Jud) into his circle of confidence and sphere of influence. Fabio is playing a pretty empty-headed game and was easily won over by Marty. This threatened Brenda’s plan.
Kelly B. was set up and told to vote for Jane simply so she wouldn’t see the hit coming. Jane is the only one of the older group who actually fits in with the younger tribe.
When the La Flor got to tribal council the Marty did not use his immunity idol, and the first vote came down to a tie between Kelly B. and Marty.
I was surprised that Marty made it through the vote and Kelly B. was voted off “Survivor Nicaragua,” week 6. Kelly was a strong competitor and would have given any of the remaining castaways a tough fight to the finish. That’s one of the reasons they got rid of her. They also thought her prosthetic leg would earn her a sympathy vote from the jury, but watching Kelly B. play it was obvious that she didn’t want or need sympathy. I don’t believe there is anyone as athletically competent as Kelly B.
One thing is certain; the vote drew the line in the sand. Once La Flor gets back to camp it will be Marty vs. Brenda and tribe members will be forced to choose sides.
Espada tribe – “Survivor Nicaragua” week 5 recap
Holly won personal immunity, but went back to camp feeling like a heel for not winning the feast for her tribe. All in all the tribe seemed forgiving; they were more concerned with who should be sent home during tribal council.
Holly and Yve wanted to get rid of Dan. Holly wanted to send him home because he is a liability and no help during the competitions. Dan is also a complainer who has said he wants to go home. Yve campaigned to get rid of Dan because she wanted to save herself.
The young members of Espada wanted to get rid of Yve because they viewed her as their toughest competition. It is a little early in the game to be thinking of individual competitors instead of thinking about the strength of the tribe, but they were convinced that Dan was the man to keep around because he posed no threat. He also poses no asset.
In the end, Yve was voted off. It is a vote on “Survivor Nicaragua” that I feel Espada will grow to regret. When Dan causes them to lose a competition they will see the error of their ways.
What did you think of “Survivor Nicaragua,” week 6? Did La Flor make a fair elimination by sending Kelly B. home? Should Yve have been spared to get Dan out of the jungle? Tell us what you think.
