On Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, Kennesaw State University’s Museum of History & Holocaust Education will be hosting, “Jump Jive an’ Wail!” — a free 1940’s-era swing dance event.
The dance will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at the KSU Center and will feature Peachtree Jazz Edition’s 18-piece Big Band ensemble, as well as a female vocalist. The evening’s events includes free swing dance lessons, a 1940s-style photo shoot, refreshments, and a raffle. Dancers are encouraged to wear 1940s attire, but this is not required. The KSU Swing Dance Association will be performing as well.
There were more than 500 people in attendance last year and even more are expected for this year’s event. British and American World War II veterans, university students, ROTC members, and members of the Atlanta-area swing dance community will be joined together for a night of nostalgia and fun.
Admission is free with the donation of one or more non-perishable food items to “Feed the Future,” KSU’s Health Clinic program, which provides food items to needy students.
The KSU Center is located at 3333 Busbee Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
