Kicking off the show with her high-energy act, Rihanna was front and center at the 2010 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday night (November 21).
Not disappointing, the Barbadian beauty treated the crowd to the second part to “Love the Way You Lie” live for the first time.
Also delving into her hit tune “Only Girl (in the World),” Rihanna said of the extended stage time prior to the show, “They gave me nine minutes to do whatever I want and I can’t wait. That’s a long time on an awards show, but it’s going to be exciting. I can’t wait. I can’t wait to do it. I really can’t.”
In addition to being the show’s opener, Rihanna was victorious as the Favorite Female Artist, beating out Alicia Keys and Sade for the trophy in the Rap/Hip-Hop genre.
In the category of Country music, Favorite Female honors went to Taylor Swift.
The “Mine” crooner was up against some steep competition with Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert being the other two nominees for the category.
Joining Rihanna on the list of live acts, Swift did a mash-up of “Back To December” and “Apologize” as she performed using a flying piano to the sold-out crowd’s ovation.
Following her win and live performance at the 2010 AMAs, Rihanna was spotted having a blast at My Studio in Hollywood last night.
The “Russian Roulette” babe sported a curly coif and a seafoam green dress as she made her way inside.
