I have to admit that I absolutely love celebrity fragrances. I was head over heels for Paris Hilton’s line of fragrances, and still can’t get enough of the Britney Spears perfume line. Another thing I have to admit is that I absolutely love Taylor Swift. This is why I was so excited to learn that Taylor Swift is currently working on her own perfume, which is set to be released in fall 2011, according to MTV.com.
Taylor Swift has scored a fragrance deal with Elizabeth Arden, who worked on the celebrity fragrances that were released by Mariah Carey and Britney Spears. Unsurprisingly, Taylor Swift has her own sensitive reasons for wanting to release her own fragrance.
According to People.com, Taylor Swift said in a press release, “I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory…the way certain scents reminds you of events and people that are imprinted in your thoughts.” These deep words come from shortly after the release of her latest album, Speak Now. Taylor Swift is naming names. The country musician revealed that John Mayer was one of the inspirations of the album.
As of right now, Taylor Swift has not revealed what notes her signature fragrance will consist of. In her press release, she did say, “Lately I’ve been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I’m really excited to be working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance” (People.com). If the 20 year old country musician’s fragrance will be anything like her music, we can expect it to be light-hearted, carefree, and perfect to wear on a summer evening.
Well-established musicians like Shania Twain, Sean John, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Usher, Gwen Stefani, Queen Latifah, Jessica Simpson and Celine Dion have all released celebrity fragrances. A signature fragrance seems to be a very mature step in Taylor Swift’s career path. She has already earned respect in the country music industry because she writes her own songs – which is actually very rare for a musician these days.
