The Teriyaki Bowl is one of my favorite places to eat in Bakersfield if I want some Japanese food for a low cost. They are located at Ste A, 2600 Oswell Street, Bakersfield, CA 93306-3159 They are easy to find and are in a small shopping center. They are at the far end of the shopping center by the road, right next to a phone store.
I have been dining at Teriyaki Bowl for years and really enjoy their food. They have a wide variety of food such as orange chicken, mushroom chicken, soup, egg rolls, rice, noodles, shrimp, pot stickers, etc. If you are craving Japanese cuisine that won’t break your pocket book, this is where you want to go.
The store front of the Teriyaki Bowl doesn’t look like much. It is very simple, nothing fancy. When you enter the restaurant, you’ll notice that the room is very small. There are tables on both sides of the room and along the left side hand of the wall is a counter with tall chairs for you to sit on. The counter where you order is straight ahead with the menu hanging high behind it. You’ll see that you have several different food choices such as ordering ala cart or ordering one of their popular meal deals. You can get a rice or noodle bowl for under four dollars. My favorite thing to order for the bowl is teriyaki chicken. It comes with thick pieces of chicken and delicious teriyaki sauce. You can also get a combo meal for just under six dollars that comes with two items plus rice, noodles or a combination of the two. I’ve found that the combo has so much food packed in that it is enough to share with two people. Their drink selection consists of a fountain machine that you fill up your cup yourself or you can buy a drink in a bottle or can.
If you want to get enough food for a family meal, they have a special where you can get three entrees and 6 egg rolls OR 12 pot stickers for $24.99. They also do larger meals if you are having a business or personal event.
The service is pretty quick. You can dine in or take it out. I always have it to go and there isn’t much difference in the waiting time. It does get pretty busy at lunch so you will have a longer wait time then off hours. The service has always been pretty decent and I’ve never had a problem with the staff. There is a restroom on the left hand side of the store at the very back. It’s pretty much a no frills bathroom, just the basics.
