You Will Need:
(You can find all of these items at any specialty paper crafts store or other craft store)
Light brown cardstock
Dark brown cardstock
Use picture for guidance and shapes. It is easier to draw the shapes on the cardstock before cutting. Just remember to erase your pencil lines or place your pieces so they are hidden in the back.
Cut 7 feathers and a gobbler from the light brown cardstock.
Cut a circle for the boy’s face from the peach cardstock.
Cut a tear drop shape for the body from the orange (or other autumn color you desire) cardstock.
From the dark brown cardstock you will need to cut two identical wings and two leg feather shapes.
Cut a rounded beak from the yellow cardstock as well as two small strips to attach the beak like a mask. Also cut two webbed feet.
Lay out all your pieces on the tan cardstock. Fan out the 7 feathers and place the body and head over them. Align the gobbler under the head. Place the wings on the side of the body and the leg feathers at the bottom. Line up the two webbed feet under the legs feathers and place the beak and straps on the boy’s face.
Once you have everything lined up how you would like it to look, use your glue tape to adhere everything to the tan cardstock. Cut about ¼” around the boy in the turkey costume. Now is the time to add any details like the face, hair, and any definition lines on the feet, gobbler, or belly.
Once you are finished, attach your adorable boy in a turkey costume to the Thanksgiving paper craft of your choice.
