Writing poems for Thanksgiving can be a great way to celebrate the holiday. Associated Content from Yahoo! has a fun collection of Thanksgiving Poetry, from Rod Marino’s humorous “A Safe Thanksgiving” to Bridgette Williams’s appreciative “I Give Thanks” poem. “A Rhyme for Thanksgiving” is my contribution to Associated Content from Yahoo!’s poems for Thanksgiving library. Enjoy!
Thanksgiving Poetry: “A Rhyme for Thanksgiving”
On this Thanksgiving
I’m happy to be living.
To have a family’s love
Plus two grandfathers watching over me from up above.
Everyday problems use to cause me frustration,
Little did I realize the need for such tribulations.
For without sadness
There can be no happiness.
You see, I’ve been blessed
This I can attest.
The great gifts I hold are proof.
Trust me, I’m no goof.
Tonight we celebrate,
So grab yourself a plate.
Here’s to life,
Now let’s cut the turkey with that knife.
