Well, it’s about time for The Amazing Race on CBS to start up again. The season premiere is airing Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 8:30/7:30c. This will be the 17th season of this fast-paced show, which has a million dollar prize for first team to cross the finish line in the finale. Here is a listing of the contestants to get you prepared for the upcoming show.
Andie and Jenna – This is a mother/daughter team from Georgia. Mom, Andie DeKroon, is 43 years old and is a Stay-At-Home Mom of 10 children. Daughter, Jenna Sykes, is 21 years old and is currently a Student. Andie and Jenna may be challenged by the fact that they just recently met. They are using The Amazing Race to get to know each other.
Brook and Claire – These two teammates are best friends/co-hosts of a Home Shopping Television Show. Brook Roberts, age 27, is from San Diego, California and enjoys snow skiing and traveling. Brook’s pet peeve about Claire is that she is bossy and gets easily offended. Her teammate, Claire Champlin, age 30 is from Reno, Nevada and enjoys snowboarding and traveling. Claire’s pet peeve about Brook is that she always looks good even when she wakes up.
Chad and Stephanie – This is a boyfriend/girlfriend team from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Chad Waltrip, age 26, is an Operations Manager. His biggest pet peeve about his teammate Stephanie is that she has good ideas, but doesn’t always follow through with them. Stephanie Smith is a 23 year old Hairstylist. Her biggest pet peeve about Chad is that he isn’t very considerate of other peoples’ feelings and he can be brash.
Connor and Jonathon – This team is comprised of best friends. Connor Diemand-Yauman is 22 years old and from Chesterland, Ohio. He is currently a Student and wants to have one last hurrah with his friend before graduating. Connor wishes to put all his price money in a kiddie pool and jump in and out and take a shower. (A bit odd, anyone)? Jonathon Schwartz is also 22 years old and is from Cranford, New Jersey. He is a Student. According to his bio he would buy one pony with the million dollar price. (A bit of a goof ball)?
Gary and Mallory – This is a father/daughter team. Gary Ervin is 53 years old and from Morganfield, Kentucky. He is an Entrepreneur who enjoys participating in Triathlons. He hopes to live up to his family’s expectations of him during this race. Mallory Ervin is 24 years old and living in Lexington, Kentucky. She is Miss Kentucky 2009 and enjoys spending time with her family. Mallory hopes that she and her dad can get over their stubbornness and learn to trust each other on this race.
Jill and Thomas – This is another girlfriend/boyfriend team from Marina Del Rey, California. Jill Haney is 27 years old and is working as a Hairstylist. She thinks their biggest challenge will be communicating and not being short-tempered with each other. Thomas Wolfard is 30 years old and is an Ad Sales Director. He agrees that communicating will be their biggest challenge.
Katie and Rachel – These two are friends and beach volleyball partners. Katie Seamon, age 23, is from Rahway, New Jersey and enjoys exercising and going to the beach. She wants to buy a beach house on the Jersey shore and travel if they win the million dollar price. Rachel Johnston, age 24, is from Moorestown, New Jersey and enjoys traveling and shopping. She wants to pay off her student loans, buy a place of her own and hit up a Michael Kors store with the prize money.
Michael and Kevin – This is a father/son team from Sugar Land, Texas. Michael Wu is 58 years old and is a Software Consultant and Content Creator/Internet Entertainer. He enjoys reading, watching movies and going to the lake/park. Michael hopes that they will get to understand each other better while on The Amazing Race together. Kevin Wu is 20 years old and is a Student/Internet Entertainer. He enjoys making videos, competitive sports and traveling. Kevin agrees that he and his father have a difficult time comprehending each other and figures they will be at a disadvantage physically in this race.
Nat and Kat – This team is comprised of friends. Nat Strand is 31 years old and from Scottsdale, Arizona. She is a Doctor and enjoys scuba diving, skiing and traveling. Nat is terrified of heights and figures navigation will be their biggest challenge in the race. Kat Chang is 35 years old and from Santa Monica, California. She is also a Doctor and enjoys cycling, traveling and eating. She fears getting sick from all the traveling and thinks that not being in control of their daily schedules will be their biggest challenge.
Nick and Vicki – This is another boyfriend/girlfriend team living in Henderson, Nevada. Nick DeCarlo, age 26, is a Bartender. Nick wishes to help his parents pay off their house, pay off his own credit card bills and open a pit bull rescue. He believes communication will be their biggest challenge on the race. Vicki Casciola is also 26 and is a Hairstylist. She hopes to pay off her house and other debts and donate a portion to a non-profit addiction organization. Vicki agrees that communication will be the biggest challenge.
Ron and Tony – These teammates are best friends. Ron Kellum is 45 years old and works as a Director/Choreographer. He is from Los Angeles, California and enjoys working out, skiing, golfing and having dinner with friends. Ron thinks their size difference may be an issue as well as physical challenges on the race. Tony Stovall is 42 years old and from Tucson, Arizona. He is a Doctoral Student at the University of Arizona and enjoys reading, traveling and screenwriting. Tony believes communicating clearly and calmly will be a big hurdle for them.
This season CBS is offering a chance to play in The Amazing Race Fantasy League. All you have to do is sign and answer the following questions: 1. Who will be first to the finish line this week? 2.
