The Bachelor shockers don’t get much bigger than this. US Magazine is reporting that Brad Womack-yes, the Brad Womack who refused to hand out any roses during his finale-is in line to be The Bachelor once again.
Can you believe this news? Fans of the show will be shocked that the guy who was once hated for not passing out any roses during his season will have another chance to stand before 25 lovely ladies on The Bachelor.
This is a shocking development if the news is true. How will fans react to Brad Womack getting a second chance to find love on the hit reality show? There were so many questions going through my mind when I read the news on US Magazine this morning. The website reports that the 37 year old is close to inking a deal that would make him The Bachelor again!
How in the world did producers of The Bachelor come up with this idea? I’ll have to admit that Brad Womack as the next Bachelor might be appealing for many reasons. First and foremost, the guy is a bit controversial after refusing to hand out any roses. How will DeAnna Pappas feel about Brad Womack getting a second opportunity? How will the other women feel? Could ABC producers not find anyone better? Or do producers of the show now feel they have to find someone who has previous Bachelor or Bachelorette on-air experience and popularity?
Does that mean the show might be open to allowing one of the failed romance contestants(like a Bob Guiney) to come back on The Bachelor? As Bachelor fans, we’ve all been waiting for the answer to the question, “who will be the next bachelor?”. The answer is certainly a shocking one-if Brad Womack is allowed to once again fill those shoes. It’s shocking on all levels. The fact that a previous Bachelor gets a second chance to be the Bachelor certainly could set a new precedent for the show. Producers of the show wouldn’t make this decision if they hadn’t endured a long thought process about it. Brad Womack certainly makes sense from a ratings standpoint. Bringing in a new person wouldn’t probably draw immediate viewers to the show. Bringing in a Brad Womack to be the next Bachelor certainly would bring fans who either love him or hate him for what he did. Either way, it’s a win win for ABC and The Bachelor. People may be completely disgusted that Brad will get that opportunity–but those same people will probably be the ones watching if this does pan out.
If our final answer to the question-“who will be the next bachelor” is truly Brad Womack–it’s certainly a shocker in The Bachelor terms. I can’t deny that it won’t be interesting to see his reasons for not choosing a woman and why he did return. I also think it’s kind of funny that Womack is still single–despite having every opportunity to find a woman during his post Bachelor life. It might also be interesting and compelling to see why the female contestants go on the show to pursue Brad–even though he was a real heartbreaker. All these questions add up to many curious fans wanting to know what’s happening with a guy who might just become a serial reality television star. I never would have guessed that Brad Womack, of all people, could possibly be the next Bachelor.
