This game appears to be another City Sim game, but, when you look closer you quickly realize this game is so much more. Not only do you get to build really great buildings, but your residential buildings are directly related to your commercial and industrial buildings. This connection is in the form of jobs. Each residential structure has a given amount of employees which are used by your choices to fill jobs in the commercial and industrial structures.
In order to keep your “Zen’s” happy you must keep the commute low and give them enough entertainment to feel comfortable. Entertainment comes in the form of “public” amenities, things like parks, schools, and police/fire departments. Building these structures (schools, police, fire) also give you more jobs.
The fun factor
Unlike most of these types of games, I was not bored after 15 minutes. In fact I am still playing this game a month later. I guess the appeal, for me, is that you don’t just collect all your buildings at once. In order to collect your money you must wait for the collection timer to fill and then it allows you to collect only your top 5 buildings at a time. This alone makes the game more playable because you have to come back every few minutes to collect the next set of monies so that you can continue building.
Ok, so we have covered the bare naked basics. Now let’s talk about building the city. The structures you can build come in three types.
I) Residential – This is where your Zen’s live. Building these give you the workers to populate
II) Commercial – this is where you money comes from. Filling these jobs will increase your
income. The higher the level, the better the income.
III) Public – This is what keeps your Zen’s happy. Building these near your residential will increase
Building these structures also gives you experience so that you can advance levels. The higher your level, the better the buildings you can buy. Don’t forget to upgrade these structures. Upgrading allows them to earn money fast and gives them a higher total salary capacity.
Build, Expand, and Build some more. These are the key points of this game. Keep it balanced so your Zen’s are happy, and build, build, build.
