“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:5 (NIV)
Many things in our lives seem to be interrupted by something. We get up to pray, the phone rings, our children get sick at school, five minutes before a very important meeting. Your car breaks down, people don’t show up for work, and don’t call in. Our life is full of unexpected tragedies. Guess what! It is no surprise to God.
Read the scripture below and fill in your name:
“As I was with (insert your name in the blank) ________________, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:5 (NIV)
Don’t think because you lost the job you had for twenty years that it was a surprise to God. If God provided for you for twenty five years, what would make you think God can’t provide for you the rest of your life?
The husband that you keep praying for and it appears with your natural eye that he is not getting any better. God is not deaf. Think about Jarius’ the ruler of the synagogue who was pleading for God to come to His house because his daughter, the only daughter he had was dying. While Jesus was on His way, He was delayed by a crowd that prevented him from going to heal Jarius’ daughter.
A woman appeared who had been sick for twelve years, Jesus stopped, took time and healed that woman and said “Daughter, your faith have healed you. Go in peace.” Just think if you were that woman how would you feel. What would you do? Would you run Jesus down to heal you? Jesus did not lose focus, and forget about Jarius’ daughter, after healing that women, Jesus went straight to Jarius’ daughter and raised her up.
We don’t know why things are happening in our families, jobs, children or ministries, but God has the answer. Interruptions to God, is a planned appointment.
