Nothing feels better than going to bed each night with a clean face. After a hard day of collecting grease, dirt and pollution, it’s relaxing and refreshing to wash it all away. I am always browsing the drugstore isles in search of a good facial cleanser. I need something that’s hard on dirt and oil, takes off all my makeup and leaves me relaxed for bed time. But I also don’t want to spend too much.
Of all the drugstore brands of facial cleansers I have tried, there are four that live up to my standards. I’d like to share them with everyone.
Best gentle cleanser: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Cetaphil has a long history of cleaning. I was introduced to this product by my mother-in-law, who has been using it since her youth.
I like its smooth and non-fragrant formula, and the way it leaves my skin silky to touch.
At Walgreens, you can purchase an 8 oz bottle of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for only $7.99. Mine lasted almost a year! What a deal!
Best Pimple Fighter: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub
After turning thirty, I suffered adult acne. Once in a while, my face started breaking out. This face wash really helped settle my flaring acne without leaving my skin dry and flaky.
After wash, I wasn’t left with that medicated feeling most acne wash had. And it really did wonders to rid the pimples.
Best Scrub: St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub
I have been using this scrub for years! There is always a bottle in the cabinet. I just love the way the little beads rub against my skin, making it so soft and clean afterwards. When I have time, I lather a little on with water and rub my face for as long as I can. It cleans deep into the pores and makes my face totally refreshed and rejuvenated!
Whenever I perform an at-home facial, this is the product I always use to clean my face.
Best for even skin tone: Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser
This cleanser uses the active benefits of soy to even the skin. A while ago, I had blotchy skin and had to cover up with heavy foundation. After a couple of weeks of using this cleanser, not only did my skin tone even out, it appeared radiant. I was really impressed with this product!
Woohoo! No more hiding under foundation!
Also, the foam rubbed on smoothly and gently, which felt really good. After each wash, my skin became totally clean – just the effect I was looking for.
There you go! Four facial cleansers with a lot of cleaning power for a little money. Who says beautiful skin has to be expensive? Sometimes the best products are just around the corner, in that local drugstore.
