I love to paint my nails, and will often go the lazy route and simply just paint over my nails with a new color to avoid having to remove my polish. Since I’m a fan of glitter, decals, stickers, and layering my polish until it just cracks off, I am turned off by basic fingernail polish removers that you have to scrub and scrub with until you dislocate your finger just getting the color off. Even worse, I hate the fingernail polish removers that simply just smear the polish and glitter everywhere, and leave my nails yellow. Here is my most favorite fingernail polish- EVER!
I am completely in love with Onyx Professional 100% Pure Acetone nail polish remover. It’s cheap and I buy it for less than $2 at Wal-Mart, and this sucker takes off nail polish with a single swipe. It states right on the bottle that it “removes artificial nails, and quickly removes nail glue and glitter nails”- and I tell ya, it will remove a top layer of skin on top of it if you’re not careful. Since it’s acetone, you get carded when you buy it (at least I do, I think you have to be over 18 to buy it), but this stuff simply works. I can even just dip my nails into the liquid and the polish begins fading.
It will temporarily dye your skin white, and with overuse it will dry out your skin big-time, but no more than regular polish, from what I’ve noticed. I’ve even used acetone on my face to get off hair dye without issue. So long as you wash your hands quickly after using (which you should do anyhow), there should be no lasting damage to your skin or nails. I don’t see my nails getting brittle using this nail polish remover, and it even takes that yellow and orange tinge out of my nails from wearing red or green polishes for a long time. I just love this stuff.
I use it on the girls, too, when we do our nails, so it’s OK for little hands as well. I was a bit worried at first that it would be too strong, but it’s not any worse than any other nail polish remover as far as I’ve seen in use, it just works far better. I would absolutely add this nail polish remover to your manicure regime, because it narrows down the time it takes to remove stubborn polish, decals, and definitely glitter without damaging your hands or nails. Plus, it’s cheap- just don’t forget your ID when you buy it. This nail polish remover is available in the nail polish aisle of many stores that sell nail polish and nail accessories.
