Nothing is more festive than glitter makeup. It turns everyone’s eyes towards you, while adding the fun factor that keeps you from looking too seriously made-up. You cannot help from sparkling within when wearing it. Use it to highlight your best features and draw attention to the assets that you are most proud of. To feel pretty and feminine, check out my personal favorites for the best glitter makeup applications and combinations.
Put on your favorite shades of eyeshadow as you would for an evening look. My favorite application is to use a lighter color underneath your brow bone and just under your bottom eyelash line. Apply a medium toned color of the same hue onto your top lid and finish it off with the darkest version of the color to line your top eyelash line before putting on your black eyeliner. Buy a glitter version of the color and wisp it out to form “wings” on the outside of your eyes. For contrast use a gold or silver tone instead, depending on which metal you are wearing for your jewelry choices that night.
My favorite way to really draw attention to your eyes is to use only a glitter makeup combination. Use your favorite eye application for a glamorous look and simply replace your usual powdered shadows with sparkling versions. Another option is to go for gold (or silver) and create a complete metallic eye look. Finish off either of these come hither applications with sparkling fake eyelashes to bat at your admirers. Your festive peepers will be the hit of the party!
Invest in a festive red or pink glitter cream blush to sweep right underneath your cheekbones to make them appear higher. Another option for this is a sparkling white underneath your normal color. You can also buy a clear coat of nothing but glitter to add shine to your usual favorite blushing hue. Don’t forget to dab some on to the apples of your cheeks as well as anywhere else you use the blush, such as right above your eyebrows or the underside of your face along your chin line.
If you are donning a lower cut top, sweeping a little glitter in your exposed cleavage area makes the girls look even more feminine and tempting. Stay away from colored versions here, unless you want a really over-the-top look. Stick to a clear glittering body spray or sparkling bronzer if you want a little more depth of color in the area. Bronzing powder also helps to mask any unsightly blemishes or stretch marks that you may have.
Finish off any of these glitter makeup applications and combinations with a smooth shiny lip gloss. Though the rule about cosmetics of “Make up one area more- either the eyes or the lips but not both” usually is true, a festive occasion is permission to go all out. So sweep on that berry red and everyone around you will be hanging on every word that comes out of your sensuous lovely lips.
