What could smack of classically conceived romance more elegantly than a springtime wedding? This Shakespearian season offers newlyweds a chance follow precedents set by centuries of love-struck tradition, kicking off their new life in lock-step with the budding of a new year. But, romantic ideations aside, there are practical concerns to be attended to: all the star-crossed loving in the world cant make up for indecision regarding a spring wedding’s most vital component: a suitable spring time wedding venue.
As proud member of the highly underrated city of Philadelphia, I may not be fit to profess on the ideal wedding venues in Seattle, but perhaps a niche expertise isn’t such a bed thing. So, for those Philadelphia fiancés out there, listen in, these are the top three springtime wedding venues in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Academy of Music
I’m going to take a gander, and presume that those lover’s inclined towards a springtime wedding have a bit of a traditionalist streak. And, if I’m right about that, I’m going take a step further and presume that their ideal venue should match their traditionalist spirit. If this is the case, then look no further: the Philadelphia Academy of Music, located at the corner of Broad Street and Locust, is the perfect spring time venue for you. This elegant academy, constructed in 1857, can host a reception for up to 200 people, provides its own in-house catering, and overlooks Broad Street, the life-stream of Philadelphia.
Camden Adventure Aquarium
As elegant as the Philadelphia Academy of Music may be, there is a chance that I’m wrong: maybe you’re not such a traditionalist, and would rather keep things light and fun with an unconventional, slightly geeky wedding. If this thought tickles you as much as it tickles me, then check out the Adventure Aquarium, located right across the Delaware River in Camden New Jersey. With it’s sit-down dinners right in the heart of the aquarium, the 250 guests that this expansive complex can contain will be guaranteed to have a blast, and what could be more fitting for a lasting relationship than the quirky and unassuming vibe ushered in by this one of a kind atmosphere?
Blue Bell Country Club
Perhaps all this sounds nice, but leaves you wondering where the “spring” comes in. After all, the springtime season was deciding factor for your wedding date, so why not take full advantage, with an outdoor wedding at the Blue Bell Country Club? Just a short drive outside of Philadelphia, you can embrace the spring time weather, and throw a little put-put golf in to boot. For only $99 dollars a person, this classic country club venue offers flowers, a photographer, and a DJ, guaranteeing all the accoutrements of a proper spring time wedding.
