Gatorade, Powerade, Monster, Red Bull, regular water, flavored water, and Vitamin water are all popular drinks used when working out. People who are serious about working out over long periods of time stay away from the energy boosters like Red Bull and Monster. Athletes commonly drink things such as Gatorade and Vitamin water and many people drink regular water or flavored water. Many wonder if there is really a “perfect choice” of drink for working out or if it is purely choice. Obviously Red Bull and Monster aren’t going to be the best things to drink before working out because of the crash afterward and the high amounts of sugar associated with most energy drinks.
In my opinion, the best drink to consume when working out depends on the person that is working out. There are many healthy choices out there. Water is arguably the favorite drink among people who work out regularly but Gatorade, Powerade, and Vitamin water have become more and more popular over the past few years. Many people wonder whether drinks such as Gatorade, Powerade, and Vitamin water are healthy, due to the high amounts of sugar. In my opinion, as long as the drink keeps you hydrated and replenished it is okay. I do not think that Red Bull, Monster, or any other energy drinks are suitable for working out purposes, but if I was to recommend the best one, I would pick 5 hour energy. 5 hour energy has low amounts of sugar and will not give the crash that most energy drinks do.
Many also like to argue that Gatorade is now the best thing you can drink when working out. After all, athletes, which are some of the most fit human beings in the world drink Gatorade. I wouldn’t argue against this. Gatorade is best known for replenishing a person’s electrolytes, which is a vital part of staying hydrated and replenished.
If I had to pick one drink that stands above the rest when it comes to working out, I would pick H2O. Water is the most essential fluid on this Earth and is the healthiest thing you can drink. Therefore, you can not go wrong when drinking water. It is the only drink that can have no argument made against it, and therefore is the best thing you can drink while working out, in my opinion.
