You know the drill by now. Episode recap and than the personal opinions.
Things get started at the previous episode’s elimination where Ali informs the remaining players how they will all be getting a full makeover and will be seeing Jessica Simpson’s hairstylist. All of them will also be walking the runway at a fashion show for charity. The final seven all realize how far they have come by getting to makeover week and the thought that they all will get to see their family has them very excited about what they will be taking part in soon.
The next day the group meets with Ken Paves who is the celebrity hair stylist as noted before and the men quickly get a shave and their hair cut. The women also get their locks shortened and their hair colored. Once this was completed, they all head off to a quick photo shoot for People magazine. Things move quickly to the fashion show as Ali gets things started by talking to the crowd about what they are gathered there for. She introduces Shana who of course is a cancer survivor and was a former contestant from this season. She reports she has a clean bill of health now. Soon Bob and Jillian give a quick synopsis of where the final 7 are at and they yield to contestants as Elizabeth goes out first as she looks stunning in a gray top with black pants and a red hat. She strutted up and down the runway and so a great deal of confidence in her new look. Her mom Silvia was waiting for her in the backroom and the two shared a warm embrace.
Next up was Lisa came oout in a pink shirt which was covered in a black jacket and had on black pants. She than goes off the stage and sees her children which brings out the tears. The first guy than comes out as Patrick is up and he strolls out in a black suit jacket and pants along with the pink cancer shirt. He too gets to see his children and wife who are waiting in the back room for him and once again the tears flow.
We than get to see Mark who has lost the most weight of anyone in the competition. He too looks great and full of confidence as he goes back and sees is cousin, his mom, and brother. His cousin has also been a big weight loss gig and she dropped over 60 pounds herself.
Brendan is up next and he comes out in a white shirt and jeans with a black sport jacket. Waiting for him backstage was his mom was shocked at what she saw. Ada followed in a black skirt and pink jacket. Once again her family failed to take part in the show and she was met backstage by her friend Jennifer.
Fredo pulls up the rear as he comes out in sunglasses and black leather jacket with jeans. He is also clean shaven and looks so much younger than he was. His family is waiting for him backstage and when the first lay their eyes on him, they are stunneed to the point that they freeze. His wife seems especially stunned as they all being to cry. It was easily the most emotional reunion of the group.
Soon the fun and game are over as they cast gets back into their workout clothes and its time for a challenge. They spot a car and are standing in front of a train station. The challenge is to either take the train or walk the stairs which earnes them points (more for the stairs, less for the train). Whoever gets to 100 points first wins the car. Making a long challenge short, Ada decides to forgo a brand new car along with Brendan in favor of letting Patrick getting the car as he needed it the most out of everyone. Great moment in The Biggest Loser history.
The group heads back to their rooms as Brendan and Ada discuss the situation about her parents not being a part of the show experience for her. She talks about how she will eventually talked to her parents when she does get home and Brendan tries to keep her upbeat. Soon after the group is eating lunch when Bob and Jillian come in and discuss the challenge. Elizabeth talks about how she is beating herself up for not finishing the challenge and Bob quickly tries to boost her confidence.
The Last Chance Workout soon begins as they all get to work. Jillian goes after Fredo while Bob gives a special challenge to Elizabeth. As always there is tremendous intensity throughout for everyone. Strategy talks begins here as Brendan talks about how Mark will be the one to go due to having weight to lose.
Once the workout is over, the guys minus Mark continue talking strategy and feel they are not in any kind of jeopardy. Brendan in particular feels very secure in his place in the game due to his alliances and friendships. The weigh in commences right after and Patrick goes first. Needing one more pound to lose in order to reach an even 100, Patrick lost 10 pounds. He now stands at 291.
Elizabeth goes next and she wound up losing 5 pounds. She is now down to 196 pounds. Brendan is up after Elizabeth and he lost 7 pounds to get down to 265. He failed to make himself safe from elimination as Patrick gets through.
Ada than has her turn as she drops 5 pounds to get down to 185 and stay safe. Brendan and Elizabeth are at the bottom two at this point here. Mark joins the procession and he goes in with a very negative mindset but he shocks himself by dropping 10 pounds to get to 299 and making himself safe.
Lisa gets her turn and the first big gasp is heard as she loses ZERO pounds. She drops below the yellow line with Elizabeth. Fredo finishes the proceedings as he surprisingly drops only 4 pounds and he too falls below the yellow line with Lisa.
Soon they both face the voting and in the end it is Lisa in a unanimous choice. She heads home and leaves only six players behind to fight it out to see who can be The Biggest Loser.
All right with that out of the way, lets get to the all important opinions.
-This was an easy call to get rid of Lisa. Her heart wasnt in it through a good portion of the game and I always believe that those who try the hardest should stay in the game no matter what game implications it has. Sure Fredo is a bigger threat to win due to the weight he can still lose but again I always hate when people vote that way due to the fact losing weight should be the biggest theme in this and not the game play as Bob and Jillian always espouse.
-Fredo is really annoying dont get me wrong but he works his ass off. I was surprised to see such a low score though. Everyone has that kind of work however.
-Ada is awesome and she should be everyone’s favorite to win. Her story is really sad and its pathetic how her parents treat her. Blaming her for her brother’s death is a joke and she doesnt deserve any of it. Good for her for fighting thought it and not letting that keep her from getting what she wants. Also her and Brendan letting Patrick win the guy was what this game is all about. Helping each other achieve goals and look out for each other in dealing with life’s hardships. Just a great moment here.
-Continuing with the Ada tangent, she was an animal in the challenge. Brendan was also no slouch but Ada clearly is the most fit of them all right now.
-Speaking of Brenda, he is a bit too cocky for my tastes. I can see him gettign tripped up if he doesnt watch it.
-Bob and Jillian were like nowehere to be seen tonight. They hardly made an impression on the show.
-The makeover bit is always fun to see but by the time the fourth person goes, its already old and lets move on with it. The family thing is never tiring however.
-I always wonder why no one ever takes a leisurely swim in that gorgeous pool. Sure they are all wiped from the long workout but still that thing always looks so inviting.
Thats all for now. Check back for more updates as usual. Post your thoughts below.
