Every Sunday, there’s one place in Downtown Brooklyn that is bustling with people looking for that special buy, and that’s the Brooklyn Flea. The Flea is a flea market that happens every Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., rain or shine, at Skylight One Hanson Place, inside the Williamsburgh Savings Bank landmark. There is a second Flea every Saturday in Fort Greene; however, that one will also be moved to the Savings Bank come November.
The Flea features two floors of antiques, jewelry, clothing, crafts, etc. There are hundreds of vendors at the Flea who sell just about anything your heart desires — you can even eat at the Flea. With vendors such as Hot Blondies Bakery and Asia Dog, make sure to come with an appetite, because there are well over 30 other local food vendors who participate in this weekly event.
If you’d like, you can even register to become a vendor at this weekly event. All you need to do is fill out a short application on the Brooklyn Flea website and wait to hear back from them. If they’re interested in having you as part of their event, they will contact you in two days’ time. Rental space costs anywhere from $90 for a 7×5 space on the main floor to $150 for an 8×10 or 6×12 space also on the main floor.
Each week, the Brooklyn Flea website posts that week’s participating vendors list, so if you have a favorite vendor, you can make sure they will be there before you go. There really is so much to see and do at this weekly event, so come on down this weekend to the Flea, where there is something for everyone.
