The Christmas holidays at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, provide a spectacular opportunity to visit. There is so much to see and do this time of year. I highly recommend viewing the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. It has been a Disney tradition for 40 years. I have had the opportunity to see guest readers Neil Patrick Harris and Gary Sinise in past readings.
If you have never seen this show before, it’s a reading of the Christmas Story. It is told by a celebrity narrator, set to music by a 50 piece orchestra and choir. The show is approximately 40 minutes long, and it is shown 3 times a night: 5pm, 6:45pm, and 8:15pm. It runs from November 26 – December 30. It is performed rain or shine, and is included with the cost of admission. It is shown in the American Gardens Theatre, in World Showcase, in Epcot. It is a hugely popular event, and guests begin lining up for it close to an hour before each showing.
This year’s celebrity narrators are as follows:
November 26 -28 Isabella Rossellini
December 2 – 4 Frank Langella
December 7 – 9 Jodi Benson
December 10 – 11 Whoopi Goldberg
December 12 – 15 Steven Curtis Chapman
December 16 – 18 Thomas Gibson
December 19 – 21 Trace Adkins
December 22 – 23 Brad Garrett
December 28 – 30 Marlee Martin
