Chevy has invented an electric car that can actually charge its own battery when the need arises and they named it the Volt. The Chevy Volt won’t win any races since it is made to go only 100 mph but in everyday driving you don’t need it to go any faster. It will run for 40 miles before it needs to have its battery charged and once it does need a charge it can take it from an ordinary house current.
This is very good news for the planet since most people don’t drive more then 40 miles in a day, so they will be able to use the car to get where they are going and then plug it in at the end of the day to recharge it. No gas needs to be used on a typical day so the Volt is a very clean car.
Yet if you do drive more then 40 miles the Chevy Volt can charge itself with the use of gas. The Volt has a gas motor that can recharge the car as you are driving it. The recharging of the car with gas will use less gas then if the car ran by gas alone. This means that it is not exactly an electric car nor is it a gas power vehicle it is somewhere in between the two. You can use it as an electrical car for 40 miles but unlike an electric car it can drive as long as it has gas in the tank to recharge it.
Unfortunately the price of the Chevy Volt may be more then some people will want to pay. It will be coming out in 2011 and will have a price tag of somewhere between $38,000 -$41,000. This is actually a small price for a car that will get you where you want to go with little impact on the environment. It is a nice car that can be the beginning of something even better.
The Chevy Volt is a fine little car that can be compared to the Toyota Prius. They are both small cars that are economical to drive while being well equipped on the interior. Both will hold the road well and give you excellent performance while driving.
The Chevy Volt may be the car you are looking for in the future. It is stylish on the exterior yet it has a traditional look to it. You can read more about the Chevy Volt on the net at http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Chevrolet_Volt/.
