If you are looking for a good place to go for Halloween, the Dent Schoolhouse is it. Located on Harrison Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Dent Schoolhouse has a long disturbing history and is one of the most haunted places in America. It has been said that the school’s janitor, Charlie, would murder students and keep them in the basement. A mob formed and broke into the school to find the student’s corps rotting away in the bowels of the school. No one could ever find Charlie again. It is said that the ghosts of these student’s still haunt the old school building, looking for their revenge. Charlie still roams these halls as well, looking for his next victim.
1031 Productions bought the old schoolhouse in 2006. It transformed it into its original glory and opened it as a haunted house. It is now one of the top rated haunted houses in the country. The entire thing takes over a half hour to get through and is also one of the longest haunted houses around. There are over 50 rooms and over 50 actors throughout the house. Beware though; these actors are able to touch you. This haunted house is not for the faint of heart. When you mix the paranormal with the fun of a haunted house anything can happen.
There have been many reports of sightings or paranormal activity in the school throughout the years. They have kept track of this as much as possible. Whether it was during the remodeling stages or after the attraction was opened. To explore these sighting further click here.
A new feature was added to the schoolhouse this year; Detention Hall. It is a different building from the actual school and will literally scare your socks off! This is open weather permitting.
