If you are looking for a way to start out your Thanksgiving morning instead of watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on television, you might want to consider the Flying Feather 4 Miler. This event will take place in Dublin, Ohio and will take you for a run through the Glacier Ridge Metro Park . This event will also help benefit Toys for Tots.
The Flying Feather 4 Miler is limited to the first 3,500 participants and there will be plenty of parking available. All participants will receive a long sleeve technical shirt, a bottle of Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages wine (or cookies for those under 21), hat and gloves, a finisher’s medal, and food and drinks at the finish. The course will remain open for 1 hour and 20 minutes, which is a 20-minute pace. The event organizers do ask that you line up according to your pace and let the elite runners in the front of the line. The United States Track and Field Association certify this course.
The event organizers request that participants bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots. The Flying Feather 4 Miler was the largest donation spot in Dublin and the Columbus area last year and they hope to collect even more toys this year. Marines will be on hand to take your donation.
There will be a Gobbler Chase for children 10 and under and will start at 8:30 am. The cost of registration is $10. This includes specially packaged Thanksgiving Day cookies, a shirt, and a book.
The cost of registration is $40 for the Flying Feather 4 Miler. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet in Lewis Center, Ohio. There will be limited packet pickup the morning of the race from 7-8 am.
