In my last article I discussed the amazing life of the Hunzakuts, a group of people who live 20,000 feet up on the side of a mountain in a little country in Pakistan called Hunza. These people were truly found to have the most amazing health ever found in this modern age on our planet.
Besides eating all natural unprocessed foods, fresh pure water, rich soil and no contaminates amongst other things, the Hunzakut eat large amounts of apricots. Apricots are an amazing fruit, up there in the top ten super food section in my opinion.
If there is such a thing as the tree of eternal life, it would most likely be a tree filled with rich, luscious apricots. Think of a ingredient called Amagdylin, and then think of the highest concentration of it in the apricot seed kernels. Just by extracting the amagdylin from the soft apricots kernels and then purifying it into a concentrated form you come up with an end product called laetrile, or B17. Laetrile is known for its anti-disease properties, especially touted as an anti-cancer nutrient.
The Hunzakut’s grow all of their food organically, and one of the main components of their diets is the apricot. There are apricot orchards dotting the whole countryside of Hunza. We measure our wealth by the amount of money we have, the Hunzakut’s measure their wealth by the number of apricot trees they have.
The Hunzakut’s eat their apricots fresh in season and dry many more to get them through the long cold winter. Think apricot ice cream (made with snow) and jam, all made without sugar because the apricots are sweet enough. They utilize the inner almond-like nuts, and these nuts are ground with stone mortars into oil which has a multi-purpose use of cooking, salad dressing, fuel and a lotion for the face.
Some of the other foods which contain laetrile, or B17 are millet, buckwheat, lentils and alfalfa. When seeds are sprouted they are proved to have 50 times more nitriloside (laetril) than the mature plant. The Hunza’s as you’ve probably figured out by now sprout all of their seeds. Sprouts have a life giving substance far greater than most people realize.
Apricots are a most exceptional fruit, probably the most nourishing fruit of them all. When dried they pack an even greater nutritional punch, a handful of dried fruit contains almost 11,000 units of vitamin A. The Hunza’s eat this nutritional powerhouse everyday. The apricot contains a great deal of iron, potassium and fiber, an amazing life giving gift.
A shake of almond milk, apricots, bananas, pineapple and a handful of sprouts would be a powerhouse of nutrition, and delicious too!
Of course the Hunzakut’s eat a variety of fruit such as apples, peaches, cherries and grapes. They get all of the vitamin C they need, as well as the energy they need to work from the fruit sugars. They make a light red wine with the grapes that they enjoy occasionally.
From researching the amazing lifestyle of the Hunzakut’s it seems that eating food that is in its natural, unprocessed form, eating fresh fruits and vegetables which provide live food enzymes, and only a little meat is the key to their nutritional success. It is too simplistic to say that it is the diet alone which makes the difference because there are other lifestyle factors, such as low stress and excellent sleep which must be considered also.
My suggestion is to choose one thing at a time and start making a change today! Tomorrow I am going to go to the store and buy apricots. I hardly ever eat apricots, but after researching this article I am going to make them a regular part of my diet.
I am going to put them into my daily smoothie.
I think I need to work on the anti-stress, meditation, and better sleep behavior too. Apricots are good for insomnia so they should assist me in my goal. Other diseases which apricots may help to prevent are:
Macular degeneration, anemia, anxiety, asthma, heart disease and they are good for your immune system http://www.healingfoodreference.com/apricot.html
