I am one of the New, much younger Senior Citizens. I have not had any surgery. I don’t claim to look 20 or 30 or 40. I am told I look 10 years younger than I am. As a woman ages she can do things to make herself look better. A support bra helps to lift the aging breasts. Wearing loose blouses that cover up belly fat works well. Coloring hair for both women and men can make a senior look much younger. I have natural ash blond hair so I am very blessed in this department. If you see me from a distance you might think I am much younger than I am.
The new dental work that is available can make an older person look beautiful. Your old teeth can look like they did twenty or thirty years ago.
>I have pain all over my body.I don’t have the balance I once did. I keep walking with my cane. Some days I take my cane, sometimes I feel good and leave it at home. The point is I keep walking. I have known many people who got a scooter and gained 50 to 100 pounds. They passed away because much to young. I do not want that happening to me. When you do things to improve your looks and your health you do feel better about yourself.
If I put my make-up on I look younger and I feel good about myself. One day I was in a hurry, so I didn’t put my make-up on. This gentleman, who is about 90 or so, comes up to me at the grocery store and lets me know he is available. I told myself I will never go anywhere without my make-up again! The next time I saw him I looked pretty. I think he thought I fixed up for him. He talked to me about an hour. That is okay. He said he wife passed away and he needed someone to talk to. He is a new friend at the grocery store. Now if I see him I take the time to talk to him.
I do use Oil of Olay soap and creams because I find it takes good care of my skin. I have sensitive skin so I am careful about the kind of products I use. I am not paid to mention these products. I love Neutrogena hand cream, there is none as good.
Some seniors do choose surgery to look younger. There are risks involved and I hope they read all the information necessary and don’t decide hastily. Face lifts, tummy tucks, Botox are not for me but may be what you choose for yourself.
I eat fruits, vegetables and try to stay on a healthy diet. I read about all the things you are supposed to do to have a healthy body.
I don’t mind being a great grandma. I do like to look a little younger than I am but I don’t want to appear like I am an old lady wearing young looking clothes. That is not appropriate.
I recently looked at a photo of my dad when he was my age. He had white hair and he looked old. He had a hard life, a stroke in his fifties, diabetes, dementia and he was not well. That was 1958. Things have changed so much since that time. There is so much more knowledge in advances for seniors, since that time, in diabetes, strokes, heart disease, cancer, and even Alzheimer’s.
I paint, write, and do things I enjoy. I think that is a big factor in keeping a baby boomer younger. I try to have a positive attitude.
I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a spiritual person and try to do good to all.
I do not judge people, I think that is God’s job. I think we need more love and more understanding in this world.
I sleep 8 hours a night. I know I can’t climb Mt. Everest. I can’t talk for another baby boomer because he might do it. I have seen the miraculous.
Seniors are dancing as never before. It is a blessing to see all the active Seniors of today! You don’t have to sit in a rocking chair anymore baby! The new Seniors are feeling and looking much younger! They are happier, healthier, and younger!
