Close to Corona Heights, between 18th and 17th at Market and Castro, there has been a rash of crimes in the past 2 weeks. For now, crime seems to be resting directly on the neighborhood border. According to CrimeMapping.com there was an assault, theft, and even a count of fraud in Corona Heights in the two weeks before Halloween.
However, 2 counts of disturbing the peace and intoxicated persons arrested are far from the calamity in Parnassus. During the same period of time, Parnassus reported a sexual assault near the hospital. Perhaps criminals are afraid of Corona Heights?
Recent attempts to make the trail to the lookout point easier to climb were reported by the SF Examiner. Those same trails are currently being challenged by the weather. Will the trail wash out in the near future if it keeps raining? We’ll keep our fingers crossed that erosion has been delayed by improvements made in the summer of 2010.
