The best food to have for breakfast or snack in the morning is oatmeal. Not just the instant kind either. I am talking the old fashion rolled oat cook on top of the stove kind. Now I know most of you are saying in your heads that sounds gross, but the truth is you can make your oatmeal delicious tasting in many ways so it is an enjoyable meal to eat in the morning to help get you going. However, I am not writing this to help you decided how to eat your oatmeal. I am here writing this to explain why oatmeal should be eaten and the many health benefits oatmeal can provide for your body.
One of the first health benefits of eating oatmeal in the morning for breakfast is it can keep your body lean and strong. Oatmeal can help keep your body lean and strong because it is full of fiber that keeps your stomachs fuller longer, metabolism regulated, cholesterol lowered, and blood sugar levels stable which means wont get hunger as fast. This also means you will not be consuming tons of fats and sugar in the morning that cause a poor metabolism, high cholesterol, unstable blood sugar levels, and weight gain in the first place. Oatmeal even helps keep the body lean and strong because it contains healthy proteins in it that help keep the muscles strong and healthy and even your bones if you decide to make your oatmeal with milk instead of water in the morning. Eating oatmeal every day for breakfast can also help those struggling with weight loss to lose weight faster and better.
Another reason you should eat oatmeal each day is to help keep your immune system healthy and strong so it can fight off illnesses and infections. Oatmeal contains several important nutrients in it that help keep our immune systems strong such as zinc, selenium, calcium, B vitamins, vitamin E, iron, copper, magnesium, and manganese. Without these nutrients our immune systems would not function properly at all and we would be sick all the time.
Those who suffer from depression, mood swings, anxiety and panic attacks, and anger issues should eat oatmeal. Oatmeal contains loads of complex B vitamins that are essential for keeping us happy and stress free. The different types of B vitamins in oatmeal are thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and pryridoxine. Each B vitamin plays a different roll in our bodies to help us handle stressful situations better so the stress doesn’t run us down to the point we have depression, mood swings, anxiety and panic attacks, and those anger issues. Without our complex B vitamins we wouldn’t think clearly and we would be complete wrecks ready to have a melt down at any point in time. Our feelings would be all over the place from happy one second to sad or angry the next. So, eating oatmeal each morning can really keep your happy mood upbeat and your thoughts positive throughout your day.
Another reason oatmeal is a good way to start your day is because it helps prevent and fight off cancers such as colon cancer. Oatmeal contains antioxidants it which help remove toxins from bile acids that can produce cancer cells that can potentially cause colon cancer or other types of cancers such as stomach, anal, and rectal cancers. Like I said earlier in this article oatmeal contains lots of fibers in it which helps cleanse and scrub the walls of the colon so it stays free of toxic waste and particles that can some times stick to the walls of the colon and cause colon polyps and ulcers. Not only can eating oatmeal in the morning help prevent colon cancer, but it can also keep digestive and intestinal diseases away such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. Those are some cancers and disease you definitely want to keep from invading your bodies.
One last reason you should consider eating a bowl of oatmeal a day is to help prevent heart disease. Heart disease is one of the major killer diseases in the United States and is usually caused by being over weight, high cholesterol levels, and stresses on the body. We all have just learned oatmeal helps our bodies handle stresses in our lives by keeping us happy and healthy. We also learned oatmeal has tons of fiber in it to help us maintain healthy body weight, lower cholesterol levels, normal blood sugar levels, and prevention of several different types of cancers and diseases.
So my question to you is, ” Why wouldn’t you eat a bowl of oatmeal in the morning for breakfast or for snack if it could help keep your body healthy and strong?” Don’t let the answer be because it taste horrible. Add a natural sweetener to your oatmeal such as honey, maple syrup, or nectar. Heck add some dried fruits or nuts to your oatmeal in the morning to give it some flavor and texture. Make your oatmeal with milk instead of water. I know my friend who tosses cocoa powder into hers to make a delicious chocolate tasting oatmeal. Look up some recipes and find some healthy ways to make your oatmeal so you can get it into your diet to help keep that body of yours healthy and strong.
