This guitar is made in Indonesia currently and previously in china. I have owned two of these and found them to be pretty good quality guitars. A couple beginners have bought these with my recommendation. Both of the ones that I owned and sold were purchased by beginners. I like the guitar and recommend it to everyone I know that is interested in Ibanez. Personally I am an ESP guy, but Ibanez makes a pretty good line.
The Ibanez RG350EX is shaped like a Stratocaster. It has a basswood body with a maple neck and 24 fret rosewood fret board and shark tooth inlays. It is available in black with a grayish white pick guard. It is a 25.5 scale guitar and has a very fast smooth neck. It has three pickups in a HSH configuration. Personally I only use the bridge pickup, but if you like the other options you are able to use them in five configurations. The RG350EX has an Ibanez Edge III tremolo system and black hardware. You can usually find this guitar online for $359-$399.99.
I really like the feel of the neck on the Ibanez RG350EX. It is a fairly slim wizard neck and really makes playing fast arpeggios much easier. The pickups are all pretty high output and I don’t really think you need to switch any of them out. It comes set up with .09 gauge strings and I personally prefer .10 gauge. I am not a big fan of the new Ibanez Edge tremolos but they are adequate. The Ibanez RG350EX has the tremolo set up floating but I recommend having it blocked so you can just bend flat. That gives this guitar much better stability in my opinion. You also can have the springs slightly tightened by a guitar tech to alleviate any potential problems. I have said in many articles that I am not a big fan of basswood, but I will say that Ibanez is one of the very few companies that make quality guitars out of basswood.
Ibanez has always been a favorite of mine for the quality of its wares and keeping the prices very competitive. While I prefer their Japanese versions they have done a great job with their factories in developing countries. Overall this is a really good guitar for the money and can make your hard rock dreams come through with practice and talent.
