I took my two children, ages 8 and 10, to the Tellus Museum, recently. Both of them loved it! The museum has many interactive exhibits, like digging for dinosaur bones with acheological tools. They also have a hands on display for underwater life. Since we went when there was no crowd, they got to touch the underwater animals.
There is a world globe that is a moving image of the world, there are gems and rocks on display of all sizes. A display of airplanes and old-time life was there at the time. It was really interesting.
My son loved the dinosaurs, and the very large fish on dsiplay. There were so many to look at, we were in that area for a long time! There is an energy and nature exhibit when we went, and it was hands on. The kids loved touching all of the buttons, switches, and lights. As a grown up, I can appreciate the great and practical ways they explained the laws of science.
There are other things to see at the museum too, and it has an IMAX theater. We were there for four hours, and there were no crowds to slow us down.We went on a Sunday afternoon. We had a wonderdul time! I hope you make the trip to see it! I am so glad its local. we plan to go back soon.
