From the Detroit News: The Royal Oak teachers ratified a tentative 3 year contract on 9/27/2010 and was accepted by the Royal Oak school board. The superintendent Tom Moline said “And it allows Royal Oak to remain an attractive school district for quality teachers while staying within our budget requirements.”
My thoughts. This is great news. It sounds like both sides figured it out. Remember back in May 2010, the budget shortfall at that time was $800,000 according to district officials as reported in the Daily Tribune. These means this budget shortfall gap was bridged. The teachers union had contended the administration was not negotiating with them.
