Runescape Double XP Weekends don’t come around often and yet it’s one of the most talked about things in Runescape. Unfortunately, mostly everything said about Double XP Weekends is load of crap. Following are several Runescape Double XP Weekend myths that are completely false.
Double XP Weekends will give players double XP
Runescape players heard the name “Double XP Weekends” and ran with it. Lots of players are excited to gain double their regular skill training experience for three days straight, but they have been completely mislead. During double XP weekends players will be reward up to 2.7 times their normal experience, but that experience bonus will decrease every 30 minutes until the bonus reaches 1.1 times the normal experience.
Double XP Weekend’s bonus will last all weekend
Once again, this myth was likely brought about due to the very misleading title that Jagex gave to Runescape’s Double XP Weekends. Contrary to popular belief, the major bonus experience associated with Double XP Weekends will only last 10 hours; after which the so-called “Double XP Weekends” will only give a bonus of 10% to your skill training and leveling in Runescape.
Every activity will grant an XP bonus
Another common myth associated with Runescape’s Double XP Weekends is that every skill boosting activity in Runescape will be eligible for the Double XP Weekend experience bonus. This myth was so “juicy” that I actually fell for it myself, but XP bonuses won’t be stackable (you can’t receive an added bonus on top of a bonus – ex. Ectofungus), ticketed games won’t grant double the tickets, XP boosting items won’t grant extra points, and other limitations will apply to Jagex’s Double XP Weekends in Runescape.
The XP bonuses restart every day
I’m not sure how this rumor got started, but sadly it isn’t true. The major Runescape Double XP Weekend experience bonuses will only last up to 10 hours and after that, they’ll revert to only 10% the regular training experience – and will not restart every day. It’s very important that you understand to train your most important skill because you’ll only have one shot at a 10 hour experience bonus extravaganza.
Everyone is invited
It’s odd, but most of the buzz about Runescape’s Double XP weekends are coming from Runescape’s free to play players (F2P), but Runescape’s Double XP Weekends will only be available to paying Runescape members (P2P). Everyone will not be invited to Runescape’s Double XP Weekends and if you’d like to participate in the experience bonuses of Double XP Weekend, you’ll need to become a Runescape paying member.
