Thintervention with Jackie Warner surprised me this past week and made me excited about watching it next time when the cast members take a surprise lie detector test. Cheating on their diets? So busted!
The cast members dressed up in firefighter uniforms for the firemen’s challenge. Trainer Jackie Warner has her hands full with this bunch.
I’m extremely impressed with Jackie Warner. For the Bravo reality television Thintervention show, Warner has to motivate a bunch of mostly spoiled, whining, ungrateful and sometimes depressive Californians. Warner, who gets no respect, comes across as tough, but real, genuine and compassionate. It’s rare to see a reality television “star” who is so, well, real.
Next episode will be a must-see as Jackie uses a lie detector test to get to the bottom of why the “cast” is not losing at least five pounds a week. Simple math, she says, they must be cheating.
In the latest episode of Thintervention, trainer Jackie Warner dropped in on former Real Housewives of Orange County Jeana Keough, who was inhaling fried shrimp at a party on a yacht. Jeana can always get my sympathy, though, because she really isn’t a mean person. And it’s easy to see money hasn’t made her happy, but a little self acceptance and forgiveness would.
Cast member Joe likes to make fat jokes about some of the overweight women on the show, although you know in the end they will wow him and everyone else with their hot bodies. You can almost picture Joe being rejected by hot women, but refusing to go out with women his own size. But it’s actually kind of cute that he has such hostility toward “chubby women.” He will probably grow from this experience.
Joe wined about how Warner gave too much attention to Nikki, who was reluctant to run in the rain. It’s true Nikki is a perpetually wining baby. But she seems to be bonding with Bryan. They went for massages after the challenge. Nikki is cute and funny, just incredibly lazy.
Stacy gave Jean a hard time about walking instead of running during this last episode of Thinervention. Stacy and Shannon are the most annoying “characters.” Mandy has the least amount of weight to lose and seems like just a nice mom who is a bit tired from life’s demands.
During the group therapy session, Dr. Ramani made a comment that really stuck out. She told the “cast members” that if they started to stray from the eating plan to just stop. Simply stop. It sounds so simple, but I got what she was saying. Stop justifying your “cheating,” lying to yourself or others, and just do the right thing.
Thinterventionwith Jackie Warner airs on Mondays at 10/9 central on Bravo. I highly recommend tuning in for the lie detector episode. If Jackie can shape up this group, she can do anything! See if you can relate to their struggles. I can’t be the only Jackie Warner fan out there, right?
