The votes of approximately 14,000 Royal Oak residents on November 2 helped pass three ballot measures that will protect three golf courses in the city. The Royal Oak Golf Course, its neighboring driving range and putt-putt area and the Normandy Oaks Golf Course are all now protected as park land. The change will go into effect in ten days. Approximately 90% of Royal Oak voters approved the three measures, which permanently eliminate the possibility of developments being made on those parcels of land. In a city that’s increasingly crowded by large buildings and parking structures, that is good news.
